The Mandate of the Production and Marketing sector is to provide production and marketing related services to farmers of Rakai District through four main ways;

  1.  Agricultural advisory services on crop, livestock and fisheries production including pre-harvest and post-harvest management, enterprise association, business skills and market information.
  2. Technology dissemination in terms of improved seed and demonstration of best practices to farmers.
  3. Regulatory services in areas of quality control and responsible movement of crop, livestock and fisheries products.
  4. Control of epidemic diseases, pests and vectors.
